The 3 best private beaches in Cannes
The beach restaurants of Cannes are not beaches reserved for summer visitors. Crowded during the major Cannes conventions, they are the symbol of a Côte d'Azur that lives year-round to the rhythm of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea. The beaches of the Croisette are the scene of the most prestigious evenings of the Cannes Film Festival and welcome travellers from all over the world to savour the Mediterranean or international specialities before going for a swim in the azure waters of Cannes. In the summer, the best beaches of Cannes are the places to be to enjoy an evening in an exceptional setting before joining the clubs of Cannes.
Carlton Cannes – Beach Club, the legend renewed
How can you not mention the Carlton when you think of Cannes? The legend of the Côte d’Azur hotel industry, located in the heart of the Croisette, reveals an exceptional beach, the Carlton Cannes Beach Club. An ode to the Riviera and its pastel shades, an ode to idleness and Mediterranean flavours.
Designed by the French architect Tristan Auer, Carlton’s beach marks a return to the Carlton’s Belle Époque roots. Everything is done to recall the gentle way of life on the Côte d’Azur, from the sun-drenched deckchairs to the presence of an aromatic garden composed of thyme and rosemary, embellished by olive trees that support the culture of farniente. We would quickly be tempted to take a nap on one of the deckchairs lined up on the pontoon, overlooking the sea, but greed makes us wait to enjoy the siesta.
Lobster is celebrated thanks to the partnership between the Carlton Beach Club and Homer – All about Lobster. Three recipes of lobster roll allow the amateurs to treat themselves, but this choice is completed by the proposals of the chef Alexandra Delamare, who has been evolving for years alongside the chef of the Carlton Laurent Bunel. At lunchtime, alongside the classic club sandwich or Caesar salad, the menu features refined cuisine. Octopus salad or rockfish soup will delight those who love Mediterranean cuisine, while the “legendary Carlton Beach Club cake” to be shared will meet the sweet tooth.
In the evening, the beach takes on a more festive look around its large central bar and mixologist Benjamin Giraud. In terms of gastronomy, it is time for finesse, and the chef is moving towards more elaborate dishes such as the “Belle Otero salad: blue lobster, green asparagus, Tetragonia, small granola and fresh flowers”, combined with the must-try dishes such as “Hand-cut Steak Tartare, “royal calvisius” caviar, raws fennel and tomato chips”.
Between legend and culinary audacity, the Carlton Beach Club restaurant could not escape our selection. It is the perfect beach for family fun, from the youngest to the oldest.

BFire by Mauro Colagreco, the fiery one
When a 3-star chef decides to set fire to the beach at the Majestic Barrière, the result is a unique wood-fired kitchen on the Croisette.
The great Italian-Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco has set up shop just a stone’s throw from the Palais des Festivals to deliver a cuisine whose flavours are revealed by the fire. The nuances of meat, fish, vegetables and fruit are sublimated by this friendly cooking method.
On the BFire beach, everything has been designed to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, a bit bohemian, a perfect place for moments of joy between friends. Pastel colours, wood and rattan make up a decoration with an Argentinian accent. The sweet scents of braised food reinforce the joyful atmosphere of the place.
As for the menu, the BFire skilfully plays between more conventional choices such as the “Riviera salad, artichokes, tuna, tomatoes, cucumbers, sucrines, black olives and celery” and raw proposals such as the “Mediterranean tuna, spicy tomatoes, pine nuts, basil oil”. The talented Mauro Colagreco, committed and attached to the products and seasons’ respect, has chosen to make his menu evolve with the seasons. It, therefore, changes three times a year for the pleasure of the regulars, who find new flavours in flambé, grilled, braised and roasted. Cooking over a wood fire encourages conviviality… and sharing, so the chef suggests dishes to be shared, such as the shoulder of lamb cooked in a wood-fired oven with preserved lemon, salt with cumin and artichokes.
Not to spoil anything, the direct view of the Lérins islands will transform your day. As the sun sets, the restaurant’s atmosphere becomes even warmer. The glowing wood fire will accompany the blaze of the azure sky. The presence of a DJ will reinforce this warm, friendly and festive atmosphere.
Here, the gustatory pleasures will be regressive, simple pleasures sustained by embers present throughout the day.

The Martinez beach, a must visit
On the other side of the Croisette, Chef Christian Sinicropi, 2-star chef of the Palme d’Or restaurant at Martinez, runs the kitchens of the Martinez beach restaurant. The same demand for excellence, quality, respect for products and attentive service. The same result: a magical setting, an exceptional team, an accomplished menu, a chic and friendly atmosphere.
The setting of the Martinez beach was designed by the renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. The result is an ode to the Roaring Twenties and a hymn to the Mediterranean, years of consecration for the Martinez, frequented by the greatest international personalities. Today, the Martinez beach restaurant is the perfect place for an evening with friends or a business lunch.
Between Mediterranean specialities and international discoveries, the menu is intriguing. At lunchtime, the “French beef marked on the grill and finished in the tandoori oven, carrot puree with pepper, Béarnaise sauce with red wine reduction, savory sprig” will seduce meat lovers, while the “cru de la mer” will refresh the taste buds of those who like lightness.
In the evening, the “oh là là” atmosphere takes over. With a DJ-set as a backdrop, the chef delivers a cuisine for sharing, where tapas and other nibbles take precedence over the lunchtime suggestions. The crates become fun and modern containers and are available in four varieties. The “Green” box will delight you with cauliflower raita with cumin, pomegranate, chickpea cream and artichoke blossom; the “Fat” one plays the beef card, the “Sweet” one treats you to watermelon garnished with fresh fruit and fresh mint, while the “Chic” one sublimates caviar, salmon heart, cream and pink berries. The on-site mixologist will help you savour all these suggestions with cocktails, champagne and other wines perfectly adapted to your culinary choices.
The Martinez beach has always been the place to be on Cannes’ beaches, and each transformation confirms this position. A beach restaurant not to be missed, as much for its unique chef as for its location with a breathtaking view of the Estérel massif and the Lérins Islands.
