3 archipelagos to discover on the French Riviera
The Lérins Islands, wild life just a few minutes from Cannes
The Lerins Islands, made up of the islands of Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, are accessible exclusively by boat. Renting a yacht and anchoring between the two islands, on the plateau du Milieu, is a privilege that allows you to enjoy both islands, disembarking in your dinghies, or borrowing your water-toys to get there.
Sainte-Marguerite Island is famous for its Fort Royal and the cell of the man in the iron mask, which inspired the famous film starring Leonardo Di Caprio. It also attracts many visitors for its unspoilt nature, notably the 150 hectares of Aleppo pine forest or its wild beaches and creeks. You can also visit La Guérite beach, also accessible by boat, to taste the specialities of Greek chef Yiannis Kioroglou.
The island of Saint-Honorat is spiritual. The abbey of the monks of Saint-Honorat welcomes you, both for a retreat and to discover its rare and prestigious vineyard, produced in only 35,000 bottles.
In practice, to visit the Lerins Islands if you have not chartered a yacht, you can also land in Cannes by helicopter before taking one of the shuttles that run to the Lerins Islands several times a day.
The Embiez islands or Paul Ricard islands
When an archipelago concentrates 90% of the natural species that cohabit the Mediterranean Sea, it is worth exploring this place of biodiversity. Paul Ricard wanted to create a haven of peace for plant and animal life here. To take full advantage of this terrestrial paradise, the ideal is to anchor nearby with your yacht before venturing out on its paths, respecting the natural areas.
To complete the Embiez experience, enjoy a meal at the SARTI restaurant on the harbour, all in an authentic atmosphere.
The Golden Islands, a complete holistic experience
Porquerolles, Levant or Port-Cros are essential islands to experience intense emotions during a stay on the French Riviera.
Arrive by helicopter or yacht, go for a bike ride, visit a contemporary art foundation, dine in a gourmet restaurant, stay overnight in a luxury hotel, sunbathe on a silver beach or visit a wine estate; all these experiences are possible on the island of Porquerolles alone. The whole family or all your friends will be seduced by this exceptional place. The island of Port-Cros is at the heart of the archipelago and gives its name to the Port-Cros National Park, which stretches from the Gulf of Saint-Tropez to the islands. The land and waters are protected and preserved, making Port-Cros a sublime diving spot, ideal for testing your yacht’s diving or snorkelling equipment.
The Levant Island is both an artists’ island and an island that gives free rein to naturism. If your need for freedom or artistic expression is felt, this is the island to explore.
