Zoom on the Yaca Hotel in Saint-Tropez
A haven that only insiders know about. A precious hotel, in the heart of the narrow streets of the village of Saint-Tropez. A luxurious hotel that offers above all the charms of intimacy and a decoration that embraces the traditions of Provence and the impertinence of the neo-classical style.Â
An outstanding location
Nestled in the old village of Saint-Tropez, the Yaca enjoys an ideal location. It was built at the foot of the Citadel, a stone’s throw from the Ponche beach. This location makes it the perfect starting point for a stroll through the narrow streets of Saint-Tropez, in search of artisanal creations such as straw hats, with a stop at the Saint-Tropez market, a tasting of tapenade or tarte tropézienne, before heading to the port of Saint-Tropez for a lunch on the legendary red terrace of the Café Sénéquier.
Even the clubs and festive restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel.
The Yaca hotel also allows you to take advantage of all the assets of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. A free shuttle service is provided throughout the summer between the Yaca and the beaches of Pampelonne, and the hotel’s secure car park also allows you to hire a car for excursions to other destinations in the Gulf and on the Côte d’Azur.
A story of art
It was the dancer of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Philippe Tallien, who chose, almost 100 years ago, to transform this 1722 residence into a luxury hotel. Since then, the Yaca has welcomed great personalities from the cultural, artistic and aristocratic spheres. Great fashion designers and international actors have succeeded Brigitte Bardot, Greta Garbo and even Prince Ali Khan in their time. It is the elegant discretion of Yaca that seduces these public figures. Here, they enjoy the delicious pleasure of intimacy.
A unique decoration
As soon as guests enter the mysterious white door that leads to this 18ᵉ century residence, they are thrown into a unique universe. The colourful facades, licked by ivy, the Provencal tiles on the roof, answered by the authentic floor tiles in the rooms, are all ingredients that create a warm atmosphere and offer immediate relaxation.Â
Reflecting this authentic environment, the decoration has been carefully thought out by the owners, Laurence and François Huret. They have paid tribute to the artistic heritage of Yaca. Bronze silhouettes by Nathalie Decoster join furniture by designer Gio Ponti, while a chandelier by Hans-Agne Jakobsson creates a majestic junction between the lobby and the terrace.
To ensure harmony between these choices of artworks and the decoration of the establishment, the owners called on the services of interior designer Monica Damonte. She brought a neoclassical signature to the Yaca, with attention to every detail. Each of the 33 rooms and suites has a remarkable identity.Â
Alll of them are unique, with exposed beams, a balcony or a terrace, a view of the garden, of the streets or the roofs of the village, of the sea, with direct access to the pool… With a surface area ranging from 16 sq. m. to 80 sq. m., each has its own private bathroom with shower or bath. In the brand new duplex suite with a sea view terrace, the bathroom is decorated with a combination of marble and onyx, and, as in each room, with products from the Parisian brand Ex Voto.
In the junior suite, inaugurated in 2022, the architect has imposed a rock style, with furniture by Baxter.
The choice of comfort also includes technological choices. In addition to a concierge application, which makes all the hotel’s services accessible to guests from their room, the TV screens are equipped with Chromecast technology. An ideal option for Netflix and other streaming platform addicts.
The garden, Yaca’s lungs
The Yaca breathes to the rhythm of its luxuriant garden, planted with various species such as cactus, fig trees, and even a weeping willow. A garden, embodied by a giant palm tree, enthroned in the center of the pool.Â
This space is the oasis of Yaca, indeed the oasis of Saint-Tropez. Here, guests and travelers sit on the terrace to sip one of the establishment’s signature cocktails or to savour one of Chef Pantaleo di Pinto’s dishes. Others take a dip before lounging by the water, under the Saint-Tropez sun or under a parasol on the terrace or under one of the garden shelters.
The gentle way of life is the perfect definition of any stay or visit at Yaca. The garden is the first expression of this dolce vita, the restaurant and the bar are the natural extension of it.
Delighted gourmets
At Yaca, happiness is multi-sensory. Taste buds are in celebration from morning to night.Â
As soon as they wake up, guests have the choice of enjoying breakfast in their room, or trying out the multitude of gourmet pleasures such as fresh fruit from the market, unveiled on the buffet to be enjoyed in the garden.
From lunch to dinner, guests will succumb to the cuisine of Chef Pantaleo di Pinto. At the Patio restaurant, they can taste the chef’s suggestions, who honors his Italian origins. A cuisine of sharing, which they discover on the terrace or in the hushed atmosphere of the interior room, whose impressive black and white marble checkerboard floor underlines the sophisticated atmosphere of the place.
Finally, it is at the bar that the evenings begin or end, during which the bartender’s signature cocktails and the selection of prestigious Champagnes create the show, in a setting designed by Matteo Gennari.
